sunshine fiber art piece

This little beauty is like a ray of sunshine.

This is one of my fiber artworks, made with yellow pipe cleaners and styrofoam. I folded the pipe cleaner bits and pressed them in one at a time, creating little interactions between the tightly packed pieces. This piece is approximately 12.5x10.25x1.5 inches (32x26.5x4 cm). The bottom right part of the piece is sloped down, creating a landscape feel, with pipe cleaners covering the bottom edge, the right edge, about half of the left edge, and about 1.5 inches (4cm) on the top edge. This is a one of a kind original art piece that can be displayed on a table or platform. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.

This piece was made with thoughtful attention to detail, in many long sessions. Creating it was a meditative process. It feels wonderful to touch. Please contact me if you have any questions about this piece, or would like to see more photographs prior to purchase.

This is delicate, and made of things with sharp pieces. It is definitely not for children. Handle it with care, especially on the sloped part, to keep it from breaking. Use a rigid piece of board to support it. Like all art, protect this piece by keeping it away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep in mind that the pipe cleaners are dyed yellow, and as the piece ages the color could fade some. Keeping it out of direct sunlight will help it retain its color as long as possible.
